I am a little bit confused when I heard that green tea can cause constipation because on the contrary, my constipation disappears ever since I drink green tea. The green tea that I am drinking may not be as pure as expensive green tea brands; actually can say that it jus generic green tea and may be one of the most affordable green tea in the world but believe me, it removes my constipation problem (which I have since I was young).

I used to take Bisocodyl tablet to regulate my bowel movement but when I became a green tea drinker, I didn’t need to take any medication to ease my constipation. That is why I really don’t believe that green tea can cause constipation in any way. Green tea is natural and just came from leaves and it is known as natural remedy for constipation. There is no preservative added or any artificial ingredient that may cause irregular bowel movement.

In fact, green tea aids in removing toxin in our body and it contains anti-oxidants. So never doubt green tea that it can cause constipation. Consuming green tea means you are taking more water because a green tea drink is all water, and it is quite impossible for anybody to have constipation when drinking green tea.

May 8th, 2009 by admin

Drinking green tea has an added extra value in our health by preventing bad breath. Sounds interesting right? I read here that a recent research in the Chicago College of Dentistry in University of Illinois reported that researchers have discovered that the element polyphenols which can be extracted from green tea can reduce the growth of odor-causing bacteria for as high as 30%.

Green tea is also told to be effective in preventing tooth decay by destroying the harmful bacteria inside our mouth that causes dental plaque. I don’t know if its true but they also said the green tea contains a fluoride that helps strengthen our teeth.

According to the article, drinking a cup or two of green tea may help maintain fresh breath, so if I were you, enjoy sipping a cup of green tea because it not only cleans our body inside but also maintain the hygiene of our mouth. After all, green tea has 0 calorie and definitely fat-free; making drinking green tea absolutely good for our overall well-being.

Green Tea Diet Is Good For Smokers

May 5th, 2009 by admin

Yes, green tea is good for smokers because studies revealed that cigarette smokers who drink five to six cups of green tea every day can significantly reduce their vulnerability to risks associated by the toxins emitted from cigarette smoke.

A particular study in the University of Kansas concluded that one of the primary reasons why the rate of heart disease among people in Japan is quite low despite the fact that 75% of them are smokers is that Japanese are regular green tea drinker.

Green tea can also inhibit cancer cells according to the 1994 study by the National Cancer Institute. They revealed that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent.

Interesting isn’t it? But of course, I don’t want to sound that I am encouraging people to smoke because I personally don’t like smoking as I know that it is dangerous for smokers and especially to the non-smokers who inhaled the cigarette smoke.  And we all know that eliminating cigarette in our daily living will give us the highest defense against illness in our later life.

Is green tea as a weight loss supplement just a hype? Does it really make us lose some weight? Well, if you are still in doubt about the effectiveness of green tea in reducing our unwanted weight, check out this health site that might answer your uncertainty about green tea and weight loss.

The article mentioned that there had been studies about the effect green tea and weight loss in mice and of course, studies that support weight loss with green tea in humans. The effect of green tea in both mice and human are the same: both lose some weights and attained healthier body (lower blood sugar and cholesterol level as well as faster metabolism rate.

Taking green tea resulted in weight loss because of increased fat oxidation and thermogenesis which refers to process by which the body generates heat, or energy, by increasing the metabolic rate above normal. And perhaps, the reason why green tea is very popular is because there is no harsh side effect when one take this supplement.

Why Weight Conscious People Love Green Tea

April 27th, 2009 by admin

A lot of weight conscious people are likewise green tea drinkers and they all love green tea because of its affordability and efficiency in boosting metabolism. And I surely agree because green tea is one of the cheapest weight loss supplements available in the market nowadays. No matter how steep your budget is, you can definitely buy a box of green tea without affecting your finances.

Of course, affordability is not only the factor why green tea is a big hit among weight conscious people; it is actually green tea’s efficiency as metabolism booster and its high anti-oxidant contents. Green tea is one of the purest and simplest beverages that one can indulge because it is natural and free form any harmful chemicals.

Sure it has caffeine but caffeine from green tea is not actually harmful, in fact, this is the reason why green tea can promote alertness and helps delay fatigue when doing exercises. Drinking green tea provides us lighter and refreshed feeling. This is one health drink that can remove bloatedness especially when we just ate fatty or oily food.

Green tea prevents fats from building up in different areas of the body and it can help our body burns fats that are already stored. Regular green tea drinkers have lower level of bad cholesterol and rarely have high blood pressure.

Green tea is one of the fewest weight loss supplements that are free from health risk and loaded with good health benefits. It is easier to take and can be consume almost any time of the day without worrying about over dosage.

We are prone to have a slow metabolism as we age and when our metabolism is slower than what it should be, we tend to gain weight due to fats and calories that are not burned inside our body. Hence, may people, especially women with sedentary lifestyle gradually increase their weights as years pass by.

But did you know that drinking 3-4 cups of green tea daily can hasten your metabolism rate? Green tea is proven to be capable of boosting the metabolism rate of a person. It can also prevent fats from building up in different areas of our body.

So why not engage in a green tea diet starting today? I have been taking green tea for several years now and I can really say that this little packet of tea works great for keeping my weight normal even I sometime pig-out with sweet desserts like chocolate cakes, cookies and ice cream.

I don’t really exercise regularly and I am sitting almost 8 hours daily but thanks goodness because I am neither bloated nor obese even I am not getting any younger anymore. Of course, I cut of my rice intake already but the viands, bread spread and oil content of my day to day food is not that controlled so I really need to take something to speed up my metabolism and help me burn these stuff inside my body.

And I think, I found a good partner in trimming off those unwanted fats and cholesterol: green tea. It’s inexpensive, almost water-like and very handy health drink that I can bring anywhere. So try green tea too and say goodbye to your sluggish metabolism!

One of the most common problems of women who just gave birth is going back to their pre-pregnant weight. It is indeed difficult to remove the accumulated fat on the belly; women need to undergo exercise and eat a healthy diet to go back in their original weight. But this is not easy to do because once a woman gave birth; her time is mostly devoted for her baby…

But worry no more because I read here that drinking green tea can help women lose their unwanted belly fat.  According to that article, a standardized green tea supplement has 90mg of EGCG or Epigallocatechin Gallate and 50mg caffeine. These substances are said to cause a boost in noradrenalin that can help body boost its metabolism and suppress appetite.

These substances are not really harmful to our body especially if we take it into moderation; say 2 to 3 cups of tea daily. Instead of drink sweetened juice, coffee with cream or soda, a cup of warm green tea is more beneficial for women who want to lose weight after giving birth.

What if the woman is breastfeeding? Well, she needs to consult her doctor or her baby’s paediatrician to be sure. But generally, a cup or two of green tea is not harmful even to pregnant women so I think, breastfeeding mothers may take green tea safely.

Green Tea Before Workout Is Better

April 7th, 2009 by admin

I read over here that a cup of plain coffee or green tea 15 minutes before we begin our workout can raise our mental awareness and help us to workout more intensely. This rings a bell to me because I am always taking a cup of green tea before exercising in the morning and I can say that the caffeine content of green tea is sure enough to boost my energy.

I tried drinking coffee once for a change because I smelled the irresistible beans aroma but I palpitated even before I finished a cup which is probably because of too much caffeine content of black coffee. Then afterwards, I got stomach ache…these experiences made me stick to my old reliable green tea every morning.

The caffeine content of green tea is said to be high but it is not that harsh even for non-coffee drinkers like me. It is just enough to boost our energy and stimulate our blood circulation and guaranteed not to cause any palpitations. Green tea is healthier than coffee because it is not acidic and cannot cause stomach upset even you drink it with an empty stomach.

So if you are looking for a beverage for your morning workouts, try tea, particularly green tea. It is subtle but effective for a quick energy boost and can be paired with any solid food even with just plain soda cracker and guaranteed to be without any harmful side effects.
