Green Tea Drinkers Have Lower Stroke Risk

July 19th, 2009 by admin

This is good news for tea drinkers, especially for green tea drinkers like me. I read recently that those who drink green tea or black tea daily have reduced risk of stroke.

Researchers revealed that there have been 9 studies from 6 countries that examined the connection between green tea or black tea drinking and fatal or non-fatal stroke. According to the report, studies disclosed that consuming 3 or more cups of green tea or black tea daily can lower your risk of stroke by 21%.

The said result is independent of the type of tea, the tea origin and the race or nationality of tea drinkers. The reduced risk of stroke is associated with tea polyhenols and the aminio acid theanine on cardiovascular health.

So now, we have more reason to drink green tea. :)
